A girl/woman doesn't want to be with a guy who has no self confidence in himself.

The best bet he has it owning up to it, b/c she's gonna find out sooner or later that he's lying, and he might as well be the one to bring it up.

If she can handle that and wants to be with him, then great, but if she can't and she breaks it off, then it's somewhat deserved on his part.

I don't get guys that do that. Just be yourself... why would you want to put on a face for someone if your true self is gonna come out in the end anyways.

 

Tell your buddy to emphasize the effect alcohol had on his thought process.

Maybe at one point he had dreams of becoming a doctor and his inebriation hindered his ability to think clearly.

the only reason to lie to a girl at a bar is if you have confidence in two things:

1. you have a shot at getting with her that night
2. you never plan to see her again

he obviously got to #1 and forgot about #2. Fail on his part. Also #2 is never guaranteed, so...
