to be honest, I do see that Tbb has reason to be upset. Netflix advertised that they deliver unlimited but the fine print says "limited".
the best solution is to go elsewhere. Caveat Emptor.

again, not really sure how people are abusing the system. A person used to get 20 DVDs a month, but after they are flagged as heavy user, the DVDs are delayed, so they only get 10 now. How's 20 DVD a month abusing the system?
I think it is. Just postage alone would have been $14.40 for 20 DVDs/month ($15.60 w/ postage hike). How does one realistically expect a company to cover the infrastructure, labor, IT system, and DVD cost itself from the remaining $2.39? I realize there are many people, like myself, that rent much fewer per month to subsidize the hit, but that's beyond the point.

For $17.99, if you get 13 DVD/month (easily achievable), that's $1.38 per rental. That is an incredible deal. Instead of being appreciative of such good deal, they are upset they couldn

As a consumer, that is not my concern. Offer a product, charge me what you think is a fair price and if I want it, I will fork over my hard earned money for it. Don't deceptively market a product as offering something and then recall it with legalese in the fine print.

I totally understand the point you are making and agree with some of your logic. However, these companies should not advertise it in such a way that you can get as much as you want and quickly.

They offer different levels of membership, the cheapest at 9.99 with restrictions identified clearly in the membership info. Those that pay for the premium deal are marketed in a way that they believe they can get as much as they want without penalty. It is these people that are being taken advantage of. They are paying a premium for a so called "unlimited" service yet take a back seat to those that didn't pay a premium price but rent fewer dvds.

If you want to pull this kind of crap, you need to be more transparent about it. Not make it so noticeable.

I just signed up for Netflix, 2 weeks free trial then I am canceling Its winter and I'm bored on the weekday nights so I figured I should be able to get through at least 6 movies. We'll see.

from what i've read...new members will get "unlimited" - until they suck you in, then it's no longer unlimited.

That's exactly what I've experienced. Very deceptive.

I used to have a Netflix account till I got DishNetwork. I didn't have cable before dishNetwork or during Netflix. I had the 3 for 19.99 price I think it was at the time. I had a very good experience with them. I used to alternate the 3rd movie so I wouldn't have all movies out. Now at $17.99 a month for 3 its an even better deal. I think you guys are making it out more than it is.

I don't think Netflix is in the wrong here as stated above that everything they are doing is within the fine print of their contract.

There are always those people who are all about "getting over" on people, businesses and systems. "Hustlers" in my book. I just at those people who find ways to manipulate the system to get more than the next guy. It's because of the long history of these people that service contracts have so much fine print to protect them.

I use Netflix and yeah it sucks that every now and then I get a scratched unplayable dvd but in the grand scheme of things... big whoopie! I'll get over it.

Personally I can't STAND people who always look to beat the system. There is a big difference between looking for good deals and capitalizing on them and looking for good deals and exploiting them.

If the service that they provide does not meet your needs or standards then cancel your membership.

I'm not going to cancel MY membership with NETFLIX just because said people can not get there ungodly amount of dvd's each month.

JMHO..
