I also have a G3. It takes awsome pictures and is pretty quick in terms of how many pics you can get off one after another. I got my mom a Nikkon, which is really cool cause they are super small, but the time you have to wait between pictures totally sucked. This camera is great all around, it's only down side I would say is it's size. it's a little bigger and heavier then a normal point an click 35mm camera, but the quality of pictures you get are well worth it to me. I plan on getting another camera at some point for those times I don't need spectacular pictures and size convenience is more of a factor. The market is so saturated right now though, I don't think you can really go wrong. They all have upsides, some being price, others being quality, but I think the G3 is the best bang for the buck. If you wanna shell out a little more, the G4 is out now too.
