Default CD burning question?

I have downloaded a few movies off of the internet and I was wondering if there was any way I could burn them onto a cd, so that it will play on my dvd player? Thanks

You must get VCD software to compress the files.

Roxio (formerly Adaptec) Easy CD Creator will do it. It's not free , but it could be worth it if you plan to do it a lot and really want the movies on VCDs. Then you could play 'em for all your friends on your DVD player.

Do movies have to be a certain format to be able to work?

I'm not sure about the new version, but in the old one, the movies had to be AVIs or MPEG-1 at 352x240. The new version may do the conversion for you. If not, I'm sure there are some free utilities out there to do the conversion. Here are a couple of sites with more info:

BTW, if you got Easy CD Creator with your computer, it's probably a dumbed down version that doesn't include VCD capability.
