Default Certificate Programs

Just curious if anyone here has taken a certificate program to potentially help advance their career. I already have a Bachelor's degree, except in political science and it seems that most of the available jobs I'm looking at require education in marketing/accounting/business administration, etc. I have extensive work experience in business consulting, but was wondering if it would be worth it to pursue a certificate program in one of the above areas. Would this even be worth it? Or should I just go for a Master's degree and take the prerequisite courses? I always thought these types of programs were for those who didn't have time to get degrees and wanted to get some sort of post-secondary education, but I wondered if they would benefit someone who already had a degree and wanted to get into a different field.

You can cram an MBA into a year and half if you had too. I would go that route. Go with accounting too....always a very safe profession in a down economy.
