This is actually good advice. Real ethnic food, asian/indian/pakistani can be dirt cheap. "real" Chinese (the kind where the menus on the wall are only in Chinese) can be ridiculously cheap. You can easily dine for 2 for < $20 and take 2 days worth of meals home in a leaky plastic bag. There is a Dim Sum place I know that's $1 an item weekdays. The wife and I go there and pig out for about $12 total. There is also a Kashmiri kabob place not too far, $2 a kabob. Total bill for 2: < $10 including naan and a soda. Pho of course is pretty cheap but you can only eat so much soup. There are cheap solid food options as well.

McDonald and fast food chains are a rip off. You get about $2 worth of food for $5.

Looks like I can get a 5 QT crock pot at Walmart for $20-$30 depending on how I option it out..

I will be putting crock pot into service soon. I like the idea and I think I will be able to eat good, healthy, cheap meals for lunch and dinner with little prep time when it cooks all day...

I am Caucasian so I do not dabble in too many foreign foods. I love chinese, unfortunately we do not have the cheap chinese food around here.

I would be eating hard boiled eggs anytime soon... sorry.

Thanks again guys!

I think Im set with Bananas, 2 heads of lettuce, meat of some kind, crock pot, crock pot recipes.... I will update as I purchase these things.

You should try it. You might find things that taste good without melted processed cheese, catsup and/or BBQ sauce.

You are no whiter than I am. That I guarantee.

$17 for the week for my lunch.

Micowave a turkey sandwich to melt the cheese, and snack on pea pods. Nothing really fulfilling about it but I am trying to see if I can be in pro athlete shape (not likely but I will give it a shot) on my forthcoming 40th birthday and this is to cut out the chubble.

When I get home it is egg white and veggie omletes. I don't eat breakfast.

I could really go for a pizza right about now.
you wont lose that weight you want without eating breakfast. try eating the egg whites and omelets for breakfast instead.

I will also definitely keep the crock pot in mind! When I have the extra money I will buy one and look into some recipes.

I use this so often. I make a pot of my 4 bean steak chili and that'll last me a couple weeks on leftovers. Leftovers aren't bad as long as they taste good.

Also, around here we get some sales for pork shoulder at 89
