Default Class action lawsuit against Hershey Entertainment

Big notice posted in our local paper

If you used your credit or debit card at Hershey from 12/4/2006-09/01/2007 you are a victim.....(of nothing)......... apparently they did not "delete expiration dates" from their system at the moment that they charged the customers card...(who ****ing cares).... so some asshole decided to waste everyone's time and sue (even though $0.00 monetary losses occured)....

the result........you can get a certificate for 1 cup of coffee and a slice of pound cake - retail value $8.33 and a $8.00 off coupon regular priced 1 day admission to Hershey Park......FREE POUND CAKE!!!! HELLS YA!!!

it mentions in the end that the attorney fees were $105,000 and they will be paid for by Hershey Entertainment... That may be the best $105,000 ever spent.

LMAO!!

On a serious note...the credit card thing is serious business.

We are working at preventing a class action lawsuit now...one of our retail stores used 2 ply receipt and gave the customer our store copy versus the "2nd" copy that prints later and is intended for the customer.

The customer filed a class action lawsuit now and it's been hell trying to get our higher level execs to understand how this happened in the retail store...it's frustrating and comes up every 3 weeks or so...becomes a priority for 2 or 3 days and then goes away...

This has been going on since October...

Who could resist ANYTHING from HERSHEY'S??

Its a carbon copy, wtf does it really matter which copy the customer got? I can't believe a judge wouldn't throw this one out.

Well, the machines we use (archaic) print twice...the first portion has the full CC number and allows the customer to sign it...the second portion prints and has the familiar XXXXXXXXX1234 on it with NO signature line.

What I've been (nearly screaming) to the upper level folks here is that the copy this woman has who is pursuing the Class Action has the carbon copy that has printed on it: "MERCHANT COPY."

IMO, associate error in the store...case closed...but it simply continues to STAY complicated.

wow does that suck! Who the hell has so little to do in their lives that they would even consider a suit, let alone actually file one!!!

I agree with you... Associate error and move on.....

I would have to guess the lawyers in the Hershey thing are loving life for $105k....plus maybe some free pound cake...
