Default Computer help

My pc keeps crashing with this message

"***Address A00D7A42 base at A0000000, DateSTamp 38438ff7 - win32k.sys Beginning dump of physical memory."

How can I fix it? What's the problem? Thanks!

What operating system? Is it patched?

Did you install anything before it started happening? (software or hardware)

Are the addresses the same each time?

Could be caused by dodgy memory, grab the free memory test tool from this Web site http://www.memtest86.com and run a memory test.

Could also be caused by the Backdoor.NTHack virus, apparently (if the error code is 0x00000001e KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED).

If the error code is 0x0000008E KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED look at http://www.aumha.org/win5/kbestop.php#0x8e.

What's the actual error code that appears?

What OS are you running?
What is your computer doing/running when this error happens?
What was the last thing you installed, either hardware or software.

also, I'm trying to reinstall win2000. I reformatted the hard drive, but when it starts to install windows, it crashes during the "detecting my device ie mouse keyboard screen"
so frustrating. thanks again!

You've got hardware problems.
