prob not a good idea to keep a gun in the car.

i had a car one time that got broken into and they took my gun from the car w other things....

maybe you should look into carrying a gun with a smaller form factor?

the XD-9 is pretty bulky to live with everyday

If i ever do exit the car, my pistol comes with me, the only times that i do leave the pistol in the car is if i'm entering a location where it is not permitted (federal building/religious organization). If i do have to do so, i keep it locked in secret compartment or in the trunk.

Do you worry in any way of your pistol shooting forward under suddenly hard braking?
It is a pretty good fit and when hitting the brake my feet are on two pedals that are next to each other (most of the time) so my legs are pretty tightly closed, plus I am aware that it is there.

I suppose if I was to rear end something or someone unexpectedly (thinking passed out or fell asleep) it could fly forward. I wouldn't be to worried about shooting myself as it does come with a drop safety.

when I left this thread was around 14 posts - look at it now

Think we can all stay on the topic of where does one store his gun in the S2000 now?

I really appreciate your advise. When i pull my car back out of winter storage i will keep your solution as well as others in mind to see what best personally suits me.

I'll try!
Seriously, you don't lock threads because they go off-topic do you?

Oh, um, beneath the seat.

I am so glad I live in Canada. Not quite as neurotic up here I suppose.
1.98 homicides per 100,000 population.
I leave the door to my house unlocked quite often when I go out.
I just know that the chances of me getting robbed are extremely low.
