Wow. I should read more of these Talk threads. Some folks show just how ignorant they really are. Simultaneously, I find it entertaining and sad.

I'm not going to go back through all the posts and tally up who said what from wherever, but it does seem the west coast, predominantly the upper half, seems to be anti-gun as expressed herein only(that is the disclaimer for not classifying all left-coasters in the same group). The south and southwest seem to favor the right to bear arms and so exercise their right.

Funny how the (alledged by me)geographical divisions here so closely mimic the last presidential vote.

There's a lot more pro-gunners in CA than most people think. It's just easier to keep our mouths shut and not have to deal with all the whining.

I dare anyone who is against guns to put a "Gun Free Home" sign in front of their house.

Brother, why don't you just buy a cheap Kel-Tec 380 and keep it on your ankle or in the side compartment in the pouch. The Kel-Tec 380 is light and is not a bad gun for $250. I bought one just to keep in my "toy" car. Upgrade you hand-gun collection and realize that having a lesser powerful gun is better than not having a gun at all. Remember more people have been killed with a .22 than any other gun, so the caliber of the weapon really doesn't mean that much. Learn your state gun laws.

As stated in my original post, I originally kept the pistol to my side just behind the seat belt clip, however it turns out that this is illegal due to the fact it is within reach of my passenger. I do know my State Laws and am asking opinions so I can abide by them.

In regards to keeping a smaller pistol holstered onto my ankle.. I do agree, a bullet is a bullet, it does not really matter the caliber, they all do damage. However a close friend of mine has a .22 that i did carry holstered on my ankle for roughly a week or so and it was honestly rather uncomfortable. Thats the reason i havent even looked into a smaller pistol.

Think of it as preventative maintenance. All people do certain things in their life not expecting things to happen but do so in case they do. It's not that Americans live in fear but we do feel the need to INSURE our selves of what we have. This is one way to look at the war in Iraq. Every day Americans did not fear Iraq. I did not wake up in the morning thinking; golly I hope Iraq doesn

Well, after weighing all the recommendations and suggestions that ive got through this thread and through PM by those who choose not to post in this thread. Most likely i will either be using the holster that is pictured above by BocaS2000 or custom fabricate a holster type devise under my steering column.

Not sure if making guns illegal is an answer, but England has tried it. I don't know how it's working for them. I'd b curious to know
