so the mom was talking with the cop when the daughter came downstairs with a gun & pointed at the cop, the cop shot both dead?

My opinion has not changed, cops are generally trigger happy. Not a good thing. I can understand how the daughter may have caught a bullet but a 75 year old mother? There is no way they can make me believe the officer acted correctly.
Lemme guess, the lightening quick 75 year old jumped in the way? If you don't have a clear shot at the threat, don't take the shot. The old lady was not a threat. She called for help, not Dirty Harry.

maybe the mother saw the police react and jumped in front of the gun to protect her daughter.
maybe the daughter shot her mother.
