Corvette Forums Are Funny
Here are my driving impressions:
This car will stab you in the back. Driving on the highway - hitting minor bumps this car has one scary oversteer - why didnt you mention that buddy? Honda just took care of that problem with the suspension by re twiking it.
I mean crazy stab you in the back over steer.
Over several times I almost lost the car and smashed into a divider.
At high speeds the S2000 does not stop well - not even close to the vette ( i have a Z06). This was not a confidence inspiring driving that I went through.
No traction control - not sure about ABS - at least have that on the car with the option to bypass it.
Driving the S2000 is like going to work. It is tiring and I am a young guy that loves driving.
Stereo is less than Yugo quality.
Trying to get a decent 0 - 60 run on the car requires you to drive it like you stole it - and about %90 of the time you will get your ass kicked by impalas - and I am a very good shit stick driver. Total concentration is required - higher level than taking a dump
It is a high rev'in engine with a wonderful sound - but thats where it starts and ends.
It is warm in the car - very warm - and why you ask? - because it is small! it is like sitting on a toilet bowl and having a heater under your A#$. That is why it takes a few seconds to warm it. In general the S2000 has a very warm interior - especially on warm summer days. The center tunnel is spewing heat.
Thinking about driving this car when its a little snowy outside? --- think again..... and I mean slow driving.
I am 6ft and had a very bad time sitting in that car. The C4 seats feel like a caddy. The seats in the S2000 have an upright position - which is a terrible back breaker. There is no eating or drinking allowed in that car. If you have to fart you can not lift your behind to release.
Want to get away for the weekend? - pack a pair of under wear - get your girl friends tempon bag and neatly place em in a zip lock bag. There is almost no space in the trunk. Had to give up a pair of my size 12 shoes.
The miata has more interior room - and is more comfortable - and has a better ride.
I did have to replace the entire clutch system.
The S2000's have some sort of a problem in the clutch system that requires a complete replacement of the clutch - I dont remember what the proper name for that part is since it has been a while (you can find out more details about it on the S2000 boards).
The shifter is sweet and short - very forgiving clutch. Clutch is soft as butter.
Ride is harsh - dont make a fast turn - you might hit a speed bump and have a hard time trying to correct yourself.
Great car for track use only - but again - that horrible over steer...oy
Paint job is excellent - yet very thin.
non the less great review - By me that is ~~

Its the Internet. Don't you know that EVERYBODY on the net has a 12" D&$K, drives better than you, earns greater than $250k
, and benches 300 lbs.

, and benches 300 lbs.

I laughed when I read the comment:
"The engine sounds like its gonna blow"
people are dicks on every forum on the internet, and lots of people who are into cars are fanboys for one brand or one model. combining the two leads to posts such as the ones in this thread (quoted and otherwise.) not too surprising really...
love your car, don't hate other people's. if you look at another car on the road and think 'my car's better' (as i must say i do regularly), nothing wrong with that... just don't put words behind it, in real life or on forums.

Thats one of the reasons why I thought twice about owning a corvette. The people are such crappy wannabe patriotic rednecks that only think american cars are worth a look.
One of my Coworker is one of them and he's Mexican.

If they want speed, just tell them there are stock Hondas that will annihilate any stock vehicle that Chevy has ever produced. Then give 'em a hint that Honda is the biggest and most-dominating motorcycles maker in the world.

But then they'd tell you Suzuki makes a faster vehicle than Honda... and nobody wants to admit that. Then there's Yamaha with a faster vehicle, who has supplied Ford, Toyota and who knows else with motors and designs. bad path to go down
