I don't really follow football since there's no local team, but with basketball, there's always shots that land, and none of the refs caught them.

it happens, its the nature of the game.... sometimes you catch them, sometimes you don't

i agree. they are really making a big deal out of this. we all know it's illegal, but so is roughing the passer, roughing the kicker, etc.... i've never seen so much attention paid to an on-field penalty.
