Default Credit card question

I just spent the last hour talking to Bank of America regarding a purchase I made two days ago with my Visa CC and got nowhere, so I need some advise.

I rented a car and paid through the internet in Germany. Today I get an email saying in fine print that due to the fact that I am picking up the car in one city and returning it at another a charge of up 750 euros may apply. So I tried cancelling through this company's website (europcar) and they make it impossible ... I said screw it, I will call Visa dispute it and rent through Avis.

This is when it gets confusing and Visa says they cant do anything for me as the payment already went through. They basically tell me I have to go, get the car and when they try to charge me more, I can go ahead and dispute it ... I do not even want to get to that point ...

Anybody here disputed a payment for services that you have not received yet with any luck? ...

I wish I had used Amex ...

J

I was going to add my own AMEX comment until I read yours. I can help with a bump though.
