Do you hate Cops???
Unfortuantely there aren't enough cops like tsingtsao. I really dislike cops in my area especially. Been pulled over 15 times and ticketed 13 out of those 15 for alot of stupid shit in a period of 2 years....mostly due to my age and my car/color....I HATE COPS AROUND HERE all they do is mess with me....one time I got threatened and harassed severely (almost searched) just for revving my engine with no one even next to me at a light.(just showing my friend inside what the exhaust sounded like.
We had some problems with our local PD several years ago. Officers with some less than desired morals. Don't want to get into details about that but there was quite a stir in the community and we ended up with a new chief and quite a few changes in the hiring process. I recently attended 12 weeks of our Citizen's Police Academy. The first night, we went into great detail on the screening that officers go through prior to being hired. First an initial polygraph examination, then a psychological evaluation, then a more detailed polygraph examination, a background investigation including interviews of neighbors, oral interviews by police department personnel and so on. In my opinion, we have a top notch PD and in fact it has been accredited by CALEA (http://www.calea.org) a distinction achieved by only 38 other departments in Ohio. Of course I hear griping from friends especially at work and then when you question them you find out that they have had multiple speeding tickets. Certainly there is a small percentage of persons in any profession who should be removed from the profession. Do you think that every doctor or lawyer is beyond reproach? Has a teacher ever treated you unfairly? If you have a bad experience with a police officer, ask yourself if your actions were clearly misjudged and you were totally in the right. If so, visit your police station and report the problem. Speak to the shift supervisor or the chief if you have to. Maybe your's isn't the first complaint they have had on this particular officer. And maybe your complaint will be that second one that substantiates one they have already received. If no one complains, how will they know? This is exactly how our community acted to improve our PD. You should do the same. If you were out of state when the problem occured, just hope that the local citizens care enough about the quality of their local PD to take action. Griping to your friends at work won't change a thing.
