I feed my lab Chicken Soup For the Dog Lover's Soul. I liked the list of ingredients way more that any of the dog foods I found in Petsmart. It gives her a nice coat. http://www.chickensoupforthepetloverssoul.com/

We've been feeding STARR! Solid Gold since we got her, started her out on Wolf King Puppy, Wolf King and now Hund & Flocken. She's done quite well.

My mom did a ton of research on dog food and found out all these facts about what they put into it... like animal biproducts ect ect...

It was pretty interesting, now she cooks fresh chicken, rice, green beans and carrots for them. They are spoiled.

my roommate got that for her dog once, and he wouldnt touch it for almost 2 days straight, ended up knocking down my cat food and eating a bunch of that instead.

LOL. My dog is not crazy about it but then again she has gotten tired of other foods too. For example I got her a bag of Orijen which she liked at first but eventually was not crazy about it. She will eat it when she is hungry. I know feeding fresh chicken and veggies would be healthier but too much work for me. Whenever I dog sit my friends dog they end up eating each other's food. It is actually pretty funny to watch. One morning I decided to switch the places they were used to eating at, they walked over to where they expected the food to be, looked at it then looked at each other and switched.

I used to feed the hounds Timberwolf. Great, great food, but it got a little pricey ($75 a bag). Blue Buffalo was good, but the price per pound was greater than comparable foods.

The boys now get Nature's Select. It's $54 for a 40lb bag of salmon and sweet potato. No corn, no by-product, no wheat and no soy. Order online from your local rep and they deliver free of charge to your door.

Dick Van Patton's Natural Balance - http://www.naturalbalanceinc.com/

My Shibas used to have allergies, hots spots, etc.. with most any other food. All issues completely resolved. They like the Potato/Duck and Sweet Potato/Venison flavors.

Cost is about $45 for 35 lbs.

Beause I feed my dog fresh meats, my monthly bill is close to $100 as opposed to $30 if I were to buy dry/canned dog food.
