A good song that shows his rhyming talent: "still don't give a f***", listen to the WHOLE thing, its simply amazing. Also :"Rock Bottom".
There are A LOT of white MCs out there who are simply great. They're all in the underground hip hop scene...Eminem used to be there and actually had some good stuff until he became well known. I agree he's way more talented than a lot of these nobodies running around talking about crap, but I still don't like him.

But honestly, unless you're truly into hip hop (not this mainstream rap), I wouldn't expect everyone to understand my (as well as other's) point of view. Different styles for different people.

Eminem has had his fair share of losses against other MCs in battling. Anyone know Juice? He schooled Eminem pretty good a long time ago.

Well, that's a little bit of an overstatement... okay the overstatement of the year to be frank... there are lots of M.C's who I put in higher regard than Em, but in this current state of bubblegum rap, I have no beef against both the persona he has established, and the music he is putting out... he's smart too... he's more "popular" than "commercial"... he puts out a couple radio friendly hits, and his C.D's go platinum several times.. but the majority of the material is pretty raw, and good enough to place him in a higher echelon of the current rap game, which has totally changed...

i personally don't like his personality much, and most of his songs don't intrest me, but Lose Yourself from that movie he was in is REALLY good IMO. the lyrics really talk about life and what it's about (kinda), but who gives a ****, it's catchy as heck and that's why i like it

As a long time musician who has invested years to improve and hone my skills on a few instruments (mostly guitar and piano) I am disgusted to hear stuff like "Eminem is the best rapper" "Eminem is amazing" etc. etc.
He's a talentless bum when it comes to music. Maybe he can write some interesting stuff. I honestly cannot relate to anything he writes. I'm a french canadian guy from Canada. What the hell do I know about the ghetto or about anything they do or say? If Eminem's such a great writer, maybe he should do us all a favor and write books....sounds good to me.

Unfortunately music nowadays is mostly made by ppl that dont play instruments and don't sing, they rap. No instrumentation (mostly just a big ass drum beat) and "rapping"
sounds VERY musical to me.
I pratice guitar or piano 2-3 hours a day, I wonder how much they "PRACTICE" their rapping (which is just talking isnt it?)

Eminem is so amazing (sarcasm)

I'd like to hope I know a lot about music anyway. I do have a degree in music composition from the Berklee school of music in Massachussetts.

I dont say stuff unless I know about the issue at hand. I dont know about ghettos and hip hop lyrics so Ill let that go but I do know music.

Also, rappers certainly dont train nearly as hard as singers since rappers dont need to worry about their range and the actual pitch of what they are saying...I mean rapping. I might not be able to write hip hop (I trained mostly in Jazz and some classical) I dont like classical much though.

So to each his own I guess and musicians and non-musicians will always have a different scale and view when it comes to judging talent. If you want to hear any of my music, let me know and Ill email it to you or email you a link where you can download it but I don't think you're in a position to say I don't know much about music. I certainly wouldnt say anything about you, I dont know any of you. Ill im voicing is an opinion, I know a lot about music, I love music and all Im stating is the fact I dont like a specific artist. I think I'm being pretty constructive with my criticism too. I'm definitely not making personal attacks here.
anyway folks, have a happy Canada Day.

EVO VII- From your avatar I can tell you like tu-pac. He is a great rapper as well but in terms of imagination and rhyming, Eminem is better. I love tu-pac, in fact I have a huge poster of him in my room and not one of eminem. Tu-pac is more talented in his many different styles. He can take a "thuggish" track and make it very soft. His song "dear moma" is an example of his "soft" rap.
Ya, I agree with you in a way.. Tupac even said that he never claimed that he was the best rapper, but he was the realest.. a characteristic that cannot be attained... As mentioned, he also has many different styles and variations to his music which offset his personalities. The Yin and the Yang if you will... But to the Em haters, name other rappers in the game today who you think are better lyricists, and more polished in their craft.

Me too.. just the same. Plus, if you knew me, you would NEVER EVER dream that i would like Eminem's songs. My roommate fell down the stairs one day b/c he was so shocked to see me groove to Eminem that he stopped looking where he was going

As far as Michael is concerned, the man is a freaking genius... Sadly in his old age (hehehehe) he has lost the ball COMPLETELY; not unlike many one-of-a-kind humans we have had the privilege to have amongst us. His current state changes nothing to his past glory for me!!!
