Expecting parent...
hi all,
we're expecting our first kid... pretty scary to me.
anyways, i was wondering if people could chime in on their experiences w/ a newborn and a sedan. is it rough on the back? any more so than an SUV? pain to get the stroller in and out of the trunk? i'd ask my friends... but none of them married, let alone parents.
we're the trailblazers of our group of friends.
i've been advised that a minivan would make life easier in more ways than one, but the wife is strongly against a minivan.
thanks for all input and life experiences!!

congrats on having a kid! im hoping for one soon
honestly like the guy above said you can make any car work but it might make it easier or more comfortable to have either a sedan or SUV. Personally i think a sedan is enough if this is your only kid.

i have 2 boys.. 1st one is 19 months 2nd is 1 month old. We have a cherokee for main use. Also use a camry which can hold our double stroller just fine. You will be ok in a 4 door car. Dont buy an SUV or minivan unless you truly have a large family. Good luck with the baby

op: like he said a sedan should be plenty. Camry's and Accords have big trunks so strollers and misc baby stuff will fit fine. My accord trunk is huge!
A sedan works, but it helps to be a large sedan, and it depends on the type of parents you'll be - if you insist on bringing the whole house with you everywhere you go, you'll definitely need a minivan or truck.

It depends on how much patience you have.
It is much easier if you have a Wagon(Subaru Outback or equivalent) or small SUV. For eg, we have a 13 month old and her full size stroller takes up most of the trunk space on my passat. Bending over to belt her in isn't fun either. You live the Pacific NW get a Subaru and you should be fine.
PS congrats on the baby.

Sedan or hatchback(I have an MS3 for my 1 and 3 year old kids) would do fine but note that rear facing car seat will be tight and may touch front seats. Don't forget diapers, wipes, change of clothes, bottle/food/snack bag, and stroller.
