I have a nice Breitling.

I like the look of the Rolex Daytona (who doesn't).

There was a different thread on S2ki where someone is trying to sell his fake rolex that he bought from Idealwatches.com. I didn't want to up his thread.

Idealwatches is considered one of the best replica (fake) makers out there.

They keep spouting that their $1600 replica will fool even jewelry makers and they can't tell unless they remove the back casing.

I thought, "Hmmm."

Total BS. Totally FOS.

WTF, I'm NOT a jeweler, but the that's nothing like a real one.

The real rolex "second hand" like my Breitling, is actually the dial at the 6 o'clock position. The fake dial isn't even in the right position! It's at 9 o'clock instead. What's the point of even having "Rolex" on the front? The second hand isn't in the right place! I'd say that was a pretty dead giveaway.

And the hour marking "sticks" are too slim and pointy. "Exactly" like my AZZ.

Not that I expected much, but that's like drivers putting M badges on their single-exhaust'd 325i's.

 

 

Well, if you didn't put them side-by-side, you wouldn't know it's fake by just looking at it alone. Also, if you told me reversely (the real one is fake and vice versa), I would just believe you.

Oh, I think the fake one looks better. The engraved numbers on the outside ring on the fake one look so much better than the painted black ones on the real one.

 

www.perfectswiss.com has incredible fakes, and are almost impossible to tell apart.
The fake you posted is a POS and is not a $1600 fake.

The perfect swiss fakes can only be determined if the case is opened. They are perfect replicas, down to the weight.

 

Well, the POS that I posted is listed at $1600 at idealwatches.com. They have a good reputation. And they still have totally obvious fakes.

I checked out the Perfectswiss web page. Do you know why their photos look so good? They're stolen from the Rolex website.

It is a little known fact that Rolex only photographs their watches with the hands at "10:10." Go figure. The watches on that site are all set to 10:10 and look perfect....

That site looks to be even more sketchy than idealwatches. They don't even show you pictures of their actual watches.

Just curious if you've bought anything from Perfectswiss? They may be able to do a reasonable job on a simple watch like a Submariner, but as of yet I haven't seen any good Daytonas.

FYI: Idealwatches also "claim" that their swiss fakes are perfect replicas that can only be told apart by jewelers... but that obviously is not the case.

Also, just an small FYI, all watch manufacturers photograph their watches at 10:10. Go to Breitling's site, check it out.

 

Also...I have a new model (like the one you posted) but if memory serves, the dials used to be like they are on the fake...

I did a quick search on ebay, and the older models seem to have the "fake style" dial order....

Do you know how you can really tell a real Rolex from a fake one? If after a couple of years it still tells time accurately, it's a fake

 

They are not that bad. If a movement loses about 2 minutes a month, then its considered superb.


Also, Ckit....look at the hour markers on the gold ones I posted...they are identical to the fake, not the Rolex official photo. They do change from time to time. Also, the major problem is, that there are SO MANY variations of dials and options, that its almost impossible to check if its real or fake.

I can bet money, if you are slick enough, you can easily do a bait and switch with that fake....if it is the fake that I think it is. It happened in Manhattan many a time. Im not suggesting you do it, but Im just saying it to prove a point.

Now, can this be a fake? It sure can.

But like I stated, you can custom order your watch, just ask your authorized retailer. One of my Breitlings was custom ordered (the model I liked had roman numerals, I wanted the watch without them).....so.....like I said....if you have both side by side....there is no clear and easy way to tell.

No one here can tell if the "fake" you posted is actually a fake. (We know it is, but Im just saying by looks alone, if you didnt say anything, anyone who said it was a fake is talking out of where the sun dont shine.)
