I'm also eyballing the gold-stripped Daytona pictured further up.
It's a watch... who cares... I don't even know anyone who wears a watch anymore. With as many fake LV purses running around, I just assume everyone flaunting a name brand watch or bag is showing off a fake anyways, if you want to impress concentrate on dressing nice and taking care of yourself physically... most people, like me, will not care if your watch is fake or real. My phone is likely more accurate on time anyways.

Man... what a pretty watch! But is that website legit? A never-worn Daytona for $5,300? Too good to be true. The website looks cheap and doesn't list an address or phone number. If anyone can vouch for it, I might just consider it...

I personally wouldnt buy from them. They have no address, no reviews, nothing.

Now, when I see a presidential, THEN I think the person is a tasteless moron with too much money, and absolutely no brains.
I really like some of the watches Rolex makes, like the ones you listed as your favorites. I'm just not convinced what's inside them is worth what they ask. I'm always tempted by the vintage models, however.

Perhaps, as long as your battery doesn't die. My Hamilton will never need a battery, and isn't off by more than a minute a month. Right now, it's about a minute and a half fast, and I last set it in February.
I have several mechanical and auto watches, all on the low end, and at this point, I'll never need to buy another battery for a watch again. And all my watches will still be ticking long after I'm dead, as long as there is someone alive to service them once a decade or so. Some of my watches are older than I am. Not a bad deal from where I sit.
i have a 01 Yachtmaster that i never wear, its a nice watch and i love it, my dad gave it to me.
its funny i wear my $600 Zodiac 1000x's as much and dare i say prefer it as i can wear it worry free. IMHO rolexes really arent that nice when you look at what else is on the high end market. 30k watches just make me sick!

See...this is why this convo is impossible on the internet.
Here is a 2007 model....
http://www.rolex24h.com/daytona_mop.htm

Now, can this be a fake? It sure can.
But like I stated, you can custom order your watch, just ask your authorized retailer. One of my Breitlings was custom ordered (the model I liked had roman numerals, I wanted the watch without them).....so.....like I said....if you have both side by side....there is no clear and easy way to tell.
No one here can tell if the "fake" you posted is actually a fake. (We know it is, but Im just saying by looks alone, if you didnt say anything, anyone who said it was a fake is talking out of where the sun dont shine.)

They do come with fake boxes, etc.
If you look at the ACTUAL Rolex site, the second dial for that watch (2007) is at the 6 o'clock position.
Real Daytona off the current Rolex home page above.
Now the Fauxlex off the site you posted:

I'll have to check whether or not the real Daytona ever had the second hand dial anywhere other than 6 o'clock. That seems like a very easy way to tell them apart.
Of course, this one is selling for ~$30k

From 1967... so looks like you're right. The older ones may have the second hand dial at 9 o'clock. But the modern ones do not. The fakes just haven't kept up with the times, I guess!
