Default Favorite Brand of IPA?

Just before the Fourth of July I went to Hollingshead's Deli in Orange to get some beer. I told Ken, the owner, that I wanted two dozen bottles: IPA and Hefeweizen, whatever brands he thought I should try.

He misunderstood; he packed up two dozen IPAs and two dozen Hefeweizens.

That was fine, and I have lots left over. (I rarely offer it to the neighbors at our block party: they're of the Coors/Bud/Miller ilk.)

Anyway, I've found several that I realy enjoy, and wondered if there were any I may have missed.

What's your favorite?

I was really disappointed by Hef in bottles. Did I just have a bad six-pack or is the draft always that much better? I'm afraid to buy more bottles but I love that wheat bear!

I actually enjoy Sam Adams Hefeweizen (seasonal). I don't know much about IPA. There's also another Hef I enjoy, made by Warsteiner I think? Do they even make one?

A local brewery - Saranac - makes quite the good IPA. Every 6 months or so, they make it available in a 12-pack.

Check it out if there is a place that imports it nearby you.

edit: oops, thought I had html enabled!

Sierra Nevada - I just spent a week there riding on horseback from Agnew Meadows over Donahue Pass to Tuolumne Meadows - is a Pale Ale, but not, I believe, an India Pale Ale.

Our Flagship - America's Original Hefeweizen
A golden unfiltered wheat beer that is truly cloudy and clearly superb. Ever since Widmer introduced Hefeweizen to America in 1986, ours has been the standard by which all other Hefeweizens are judged.
