Which garage floor coating? Edit. Just ordered floor tiling.
After looking more into it I think I'm going to go with garage tiling. Any one else use those? Don't think I'll do race deck since those are almost $4 per square foot but other made in the US brands are around 2.25-2.50 a foot.
The epoxy will take a ton of prep I'm not sure I'll have time for and risk having it not less for whatever reason. The stuff I was going to get would have came out to about $1500 total which is about same as tiles.

Home depot has just plain grey garage floor tiles for about $2 a sqft I think. Saw them on their website the other day. No neat colors though.
I think it is a wash of good tiles vs. epoxy, but IF you happen to have a slab that is venting moisture, the epoxy would eventually come up. With the tiles it is not an issue.
There were threads on here where people got race deck delivered pretty cheap for wholesalers. I don't know who, or where the threads are, but it was down towards the $3 mark if I remember correctly. You might try a couple places for quotes just in case. but you won't get close to the Home Depot price.
2 tiles here for $1.97 per sqft:

I wish they had colors but I might buy bulk grey, and find some other color to mix in of the same style but from another supplier to add a little pizzaz to my floor at the place we move to next month. ***edit**** I see what I linked is not single tiles but large mats that are rolled out and installed like linoleum.
Just ordered it today! Went with a black border followed by a blue rectangle and then black and graphite 4sf checkered pattern. I went with a brand called tru lock HD. They are made by Racedeck brand just private labeled out.
They offered me a 30% rebate once I get it for doing a before/after pictures as well as a review written up. So came out to only $1.89 a square foot after rebate for it which includes 3 gallons of concrete sealer to go under it as well as the edging pieces along the front of the garage and free shipping.
I still need to buy some landscaping mating I guess it is called to lay down under the tiles. It's supposed to insulate them a little bit to have less or no noise when walking on them since they are not solid.
I have a feeling I will be sinking a lot of money into this garage. Damn it! haha

I basically made the same exact call you did. We moved in 3 months ago and I was going to take a few days off work to prep and put the epoxy down... but because I didn't have a TON of time I started early writing down all of the materials, costs, steps, and timing, etc. Since I wanted to do it right the first time... it became a LOT of steps and a LOT of materials (I have the list for future use) so I ended up just bailing out and not doing it. Just too many variables to handle, because if something went wrong or took longer than expected.... I couldn't afford that time and then we had to move ALL of our stuff in that next weekend.
Mine wasn't going to be practical anyways, since it's a smaller-size 2-car garage in a lower-end neighborhood. I wasn't going to see ANY of my money back, or probably any added market base when we go to sell in the future either.
I'll wait until we move into our next house in 5-10 years when we'll be able to go to a 3 car garage or a detached garage.

My father in law had large pieces of discarded carpet in his garage and I grew to like it. We built a new house in a rural area (5 acres) with lots of dirt and dogs. My garage is 1100 square feet. My builder was also re-doing an office space and had tons of quality indoor outdoor commercial carpet to discard. I hauled it home and put it in wall to wall. No adhesive or tacking; just layed it in place and used some seam tape.
It has been great! 15 years now. Really keeps the house cleaner from the kids, dogs, and me. Easy to walk on. Makes it nice to work on cars too. Surprisingly easy to keep clean. Sweep, blow, or even vacuum. Only marks you get are the tire tracks.
Price was right-free!

Nice!
Got a nice call yesterday. I ordered Truelock HD brand it was called. It was made by Racedeck but a lower quality for less money. They ran out of that so upgraded me for free to Race Deck brand tiles. Comes with a 15 year warranty and better over all quality. I still get a 30% refund once I take pictures etc so I think I probably got the lowest price on Race Deck anyone has ever gotten haha.
Comes out to $1.75 a tile after the rebate I believe. It's normally $3.50 a tile.

Just and FYI for those of you contemplating the tiles or the roll vinyl, the roll vinyl is what I did - garage floor coverings are a seasonal item.
WHO KNEW! I did mine in August and in every store I found out they'd just sent their stock back to the warehouse. They stock up at Christmas and clear the shelves in July.
I even tried Amazon and couldn't get enough. I needed 30 boxes and the most I could get was 4-5 at a time through Amazon and I would have had to take the colors they had instead of picking a color.
Home Depot has a roll vinyl in a gray diamond tread design and it cost me less than half of the price of the tiles. Also it is less likely to "walk" on you over time.
It's heavier than all get out so it is tough to do by one person, but I didn't know that when I began. I had a torn achilles tendon and it was just me so it took me a while.
One warning on the vinyl, I had to replace one roll of it because I left it out in the truck in the sun. The little bit that was hanging off the end of the truck stretched with the heat and the weight of the end hanging down. Home Depot replaced it, but it cost me a week of trying to figure out what I'd down wrong and tripping over the edge. Fortunately it was no big deal to replace as I just rolled it up and put it on the truck. Took me less than 5 minutes to remove it and 5 more to put the new one back down.
