Glyde Vs. Dare
Alright time to upgrade phones ... I'm torn between these two unfortunately. Verizon doesn't carry iPhones so this is what i got to work with. I wont be using the internet or any of that sort since from what I hear, surfing the web through verizon sucks really bad. Besides that, I just need a phone to txt, call, and have fun with when I'm bored.
The contenders:
Samsung Glyde

LG Dare

I need help deciding which one to get, or if there are other better ones suited for me. Thanks!

Whichever one DOES NOT have Windows Mobile is the one I would choose.

Nick619 has the glyde, take his advice.
Yeah I picked up the Glyde a couple months back after having issues with the Voyager (although I think I was causing the issues).
Anyway, the Glyde is a nice phone. I haven't had any issues with it really. The only peeves about this, is after going from the Voyager touch screen (top notch) to the Glyde touchscreen (mediocre to above average), it's a little less user effective.
Also, there are NO regular navigation keys. If you want to navigate, you HAVE to use the touch screen. You can use the arrow keys, but it's a function key and even then it's not very efficient.
Overall, the call quality is great, I haven't had any issues with people not being able to hear me. I wear hearing aids, and I notice speaker quality more than other people (since I have to listen for it), and it's not as good as some of my other phones but it's plenty good enough for the average user. I would not recommend using in the S2 with the top down and windows down. But then again, that could just be my hearing aids picking up sound I don't like.
Text messaging is a little different and will take some time to get used to. They keys are not lined up on a regular keyboard, and that threw me off when I went from the Voyager (and AT&T BlackJack before) with a QWERTY keyboard lined up just the way a keyboard is. It's not horrible though, it will take a week or two depending on how MUCH you text to get used to it.
The sliding mechanism is very solid, and I don't think it will be an issue for the life of the phone.
Another thing I don't like, is the lack of call/end buttons on the phone anywhere. You have to use the touchscreen to start and end calls, and the phone locks shortly after you initiate a call, so for those voicemails, you have to "unlock" the screen and then input your numbers. To end a call, you have to press the HOME key a few times. I THINK once the screen is lit up you can press the end button, or you can just keep pressing the home button to end the call.
Overall, it's a great phone. I get lots of compliments on it, and people always say "OH I WANT THAT PHONE!" To me, it's no Voyager. But it's a great phone. My recommendation would be to get the Voyager personally. The Voyager is overall just more user efficient, with the keyboard, navigation, touch screen accuracy, and call/end keys on the main screen.
But between those two phones... This is my review of the Glyde. Haven't touched the Dare yet.
