I heard about this on the radio earlier today and the announcer said the study also found that vehicles that had more mass high up were more prone to rollover. Well, duh!

The interesting thing about this study was that no car was driven to test the rollover-proneness. IT was strictly based on centers of gravity, weight and physical calculations to determine how rollover-happy the tested cars are/would be.

It's certainly a HELLUVA lot cheaper to perform a test this way since you don't have to destroy a bunch of cars...BUT...I also think that there are other factors that play into how prone a car is to rollover.

Nonetheless, it was awesome to see another of Soichiro's jewels atop yet another list!

Gotta love that!

If my S2000 ever rolls over, I'm going to try to make sure it lands on one of those GM SUVs

People who own those suckers have been paying a lot for gas this year

I thought the following quote in the article was choice:

"Rollovers are certainly important," said GM chief executive Rick Wagoner in a press briefing with reporters at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. "But if you talk about overall safety, SUV's look pretty good compared to a lot of other vehicles. Rollovers aren't the only way one can injure themselves."

He got that right. For example, you can really injure yourself in one of those "other vehicles" by getting hit by an SUV.
