Going to get a used iphone

jailbreaking worked...but for some reason it won't use the GPRS/EDGE to browse the web 
i can make calls, wifi works, just not the MediaNET (which i have an unlimited plan for)
any ideas? in other phones you can simply go to settings and change the medianet options, but i can't seem to find it on the iphone.

easiest phone to use in my opinion. After using the Iphone for almost a year now I can say it is very hard to go back to any other phone.
Can't wait to get the new gen Iphone. Hopefully there are unexpected new things on it
