Default got AMEX & Mastercard: need a VISA?

i have at&t platinum mastercard and amex blue cards. i have zero debt as i pay off balances in full every month.

i've never had a situation where a shop/restaurant refused both of my cards, but i wonder if a VISA is worthwhile to have? if yes, which company has some cool benefits?

btw i use at&t card b/c i've had it since college.. i dont even use its calling card feature..

I use Citi MaterCard Platinum Select Dividend, it gives me 5% rebate on Gas, Groceries and Drug Stores; and 1% rebate on everything else. The only problem is the rebate is limited to $300 max a year

Why would you possibly need a third? I've only ever had one card (was a visa until the company switched it to a MC) and I've yet to find a situation where I needed another.

I've never owned a VISA. Had my MC since I was 18, ~20 years. Never had a need for a VISA. MC works anywhere VISA does.

I have a AAA Plat Visa, gives 3-5% rebates on gas!
Also got Amex Blue, Discover, and various MCs to cover all the bases.

VISAs and MasterCards, for all intents and purposes, are synonymous. I wouldn't just get another card for the heck of it, probably (not sure) would hurt your credit. After I trim down the fluff, I'm going to be left with a VISA/MasterCard and an Amex Skymiles card.

^ My credit was in the high 700s when i financed the S. What hurts credit is opening credit lines, then closing them, missing payments, etc. etc. Its good to just keep whatever cards you are using for a loooooong time.
