I'm sure you will find another job rather quickly. If you were getting good surveys and awards for your work, sounds like you were a good employee to me. Good luck dude.

I would also talk to human resources about it.

good luck
You've obviously never worked at a car dealership. Over 50% of the dealerships in this country have no HR staff. Things are mostly handeled by the GM, then the owner and if things get bumpy a labor attorney. If things get really bad then the insurance company steps in because there is probably a lawsuit at that point.

It has been very common over the last 8 months to see dealerships employees getting laid off or fired for dumb reasons. The car business in many parts of the country is very slow right now...except for Toyota

Lets see.....you knew that they were on a firing rampage.......so instead of doing what every other even remotely intelligent person would do........which is make sure they followed EVERY rule, you blatantly and stupidly broke two simple common sense rules. I would have fired you too, not for breaking the rules, but for being incompetent.

Dude if I found your phone charging in my car, I'd strongly recommend that they take significant action against you. I would also stop visiting your dealership for service, and I'd probably post on this board that some pos service guy decided to leave his shit charging in my car. Definitely would bring that up to the service mgr or the owner of the dealership.

Call me a dick, but if I found your shit in my car, I'd knock your ****ing teeth out.

Take this is a lesson learned. If you worked for me, you'd better believe you'd be gone. Dont people take pride in their work anymore, nor do they respect other people's property?

I'd really like to hear what the service mgr had to say about you. What dealership?

maybe I'm missing something, but how is charging a cell phone going to hurt a customer's car?

Thats not the point.

There is a moral issue when you deal with other peoples property. Do what you think is right and how you would want to be treated if you were the customer.

I am always worried when I leave my car with a stranger regardless of who they are, because ppl never seem to give a damn about your property. They kiss your ass in your face, but spit on your car as soon as they pull it to the back.

You seem like a nice guy, but I'm sorry. I would not want someone like you working on my car for the simple fact that you care more about helping yourself (less walking distance + charging your phone) than respecting other people.

hey,I didn't do it, I was just asking a question about it! I'm not a mechanic, but I always treat others' property w/ the utmost respect.
