Had mine taken out about 5-6 yrs ago with just novacaine, could have been worse. Can't remember what I ate afterwards bur I'm sure it was something soft. It reminded me of the movie "10" when Dudley Moore went to the dentist.

You shouldn't take Vicodin w/ advil because the Vicodin already has acetaminophen (Tylenol) inside. Too much strain on your liver.
Wow, didn't know that. I'm going to only take Advil from now on - the other thing gives me a weird feeling and makes me sleepy.

It's a bit more swollen now, a little bit of bleeding (nothing like yesterday). All in all I would much rather be put to sleep than be awake for it, no matter how cute the nurse was!

I was awake when I had mine taken out a couple years ago. I thought it was a pretty cool experience, but then again I'm really into the body and all that shit. It wasn't painful at all for me, I had perks afterwards so . Hearing your teeth being removed is an interesting sound. Anyway I loaded up on Gogurts for about a day

Chicken noodle soup for the next 3 days and flush the sockets regularly . Never had a problem. I would take the pills the dentist gave you and ice my face pretty regularly. I never had a problem because I learned from other peoples mistakes. You don't want an infection in your mouth and you dan't want to be out playing around without some good pain medication near by.

well i'm having congee (rice soup). the swelling has made my face a little weird - one side is puffier than the other.

should i use listerine to swish in my mouth?

i've stopped taking the vicodin and instead taking advil because the vicodin makes me sleepy (i'd rather be posting and browsing the net or playing games), should i not do that?

thanks for all the advice

Yes! And Hydrogen Peroxide...

You'll find out soon enough if the Advil is sufficient.

Vicodin is just a painkiller so you can either take it or not, it doesn't matter as long as the pain is bearable. Pretty much the same goes for Advil.

But, I don't think the active ingredient in Advil is acetaminophen. It should be ibuprofen. Ibuprofen isn't great for the liver, either, but it's a lot less harmful to it than acetaminophen, especially in the short term.

So, you are probably okay taking both Vicodin and Advil at the same time. Personally, I'd ditch the Advil and take some Vicodin, then play video games.
