Loki,

I sold my R6 so I could get a RC51...the R6 was great, but was kind of high strung for the street (it didn't seem to like spending much time below 10K rpm) and influenced me to ride it too fast (would still be my top choice for the track, though). I got an R1 instead b/c I found an unpassable trade deal: it's been awesome, but I'd still consider the RC real hard if I was in the market for a new street bike. Not as much performance and heavier than the R1, but it feels and sounds great (reminds me of a Duc w/o the Duc ownership hassles). If they could only make it get a few more miles out of a tank of gas!

I love the power delivery of a twin... very smooth and linear. I had a 916 years ago and it was the same, yes I did have mechanical headaches too but you look past that for the shear italian blissfulness.

IMHO Honda beat Ducati at it's game and we'll see if they can repeat in WSB this year. True about the range tho, it's one of the negatives...

Is it just me, or does the S2000 attract motorcyclists more than just about any other car? It's pretty cool how many of you ride as well...maybe it's b/c the S2K is almost like a 4-wheeled motorcycle!

Chris,

How do you like your DRZ? I was looking at them late last year and a guy I know can really take anything on in the twisties with it.

I miss trail riding and that's one of the few dirt bikes that "fit" me.

Loki,

So far, I love my DRZ. Mine's dirt only (but w/ elec start), so I can't comment on its performance in the twisties. In my limited experience w/ it, though, it handles really easy, has a very broad powerband, and wheelies pretty easily.

I did some time on a local motocross track, and it worked great, though the suspension could be stiffer for some of their supercross-style jumps. It's not the bike's natural element, and I'm ~220lbs., so I can't fault the bike for that.

Overall, I think it will be about perfect as a trail bike! Pics of it are @ http://briefcase.yahoo.com/chris_soignier, then click on the "trailer" photo album (also have pics of my other toys there)

Feel free to email me if you have any specific questions on the DRZ...
