^LOL at the presidente.

carry guns need to be thought out very well.

1.buy a few gun mags, do some research.
2.go to gunbroker.com and gunsamerica.com to see what current prices are (without regard to location).
3. go to a rental range and try out guns on your list and get info on ownership requirement/limitations
4.buy one locally to establish a relationship with a local gunshop (after this you can buy guns online without too much hassle)
5.train
6.train
7.train
8. repeat steps 5-7 again.

my favorites:

1911 - flat comfy and quick shooting. points very naturally
kahr k40 elite - small, fast shooting
229 - best sig out there
what kind of 1911/s do you own?

kimber gold guardian - special run from the custom shop. only 300 made.
springfield 3.5 inch
springfield operator - full profile dustcover and slide with light rail
colt gold cup
colt tactical commander
and a couple plain jane ones

the colts are works in progress. lol they need tons of work. it's not even worth it, nowadays. not with the quality stuff being produced and sold, ie kimber, springfield, sig.

anyhow, i spend most of my time on the floor. precision rifle and trap shooting are my faves if i'm gonna be behind the trigger.

Based on my recollection, Pope John Paul (the ???) was shot 5 times in the chest and abdomen with a baretta 9mm and lived for many years after.

I pack Corbon 9mm DPX +P in my light CCW.. plenty of stopping power. Hopefully I'll never have to test it in the real world though

No doubt. Great firearm for the price. It is a bit heavy for CCW, but still much lighter than a Sig 220 ST
It's heavy, but I think that's a very nice way to start shooting. When I first went to the range, Glock and other composite pistols gave me no feel for balance. I wish they made one small enough for CC... I'd sell my S before my CZ.

No doubt. Having that weight tames the felt recoil a bit, and thats a good thing. I love the look of the CZ as well....classic lines. It is big for some folks in the capacity of a ccw, but most could still conceal it with the right holster and carry position. In the interest of a smaller frame size for a ccw, have you tried the sig 239 or the stainless kahr models?
A composite pistol's balance does tend to feel affected as the magazine gets lighter (to my hands), but the savings in weight, and grip angle/accuracy that agrees with me, lead me to carry the glock more than the others. It certainly isnt pretty, but its the right tool for the job for me.

I dont think Id want to take the chance on that type of good fortune.
Alot of people laugh at the power of a .22, but more people kill others/themselves with that caliber of bullet every year, than any other. I always offer caliber doubters the chance to catch a .22 round at the range if they have no faith in its capabilities....so far, no takers.
