Steak knives and bio weapons? really? here, and over there in Europe, generally its just bombs..

agree abt car deaths though - and bikes too. But apparntly in the UK, more people get seriously injured from riding horses than bikers do!

I still feel that handguns shld never be legalised here - once they become the norm, they wil be the chosen crime weapon. Recent police ammnestys on knives and guns have bee quite successful.

Most importantly, you have to go with whatever feels best in your hand. The weapon has to fit you.

Glock 23 bud! You won't be sorry.
Take a look at the Sig also.
You can probably find a G23 with night sights for under $500 at a gunshow.

I have a glock23c and glock35 myself:

thanks for the feedback! It's pretty much between the H&K .40 USP compact and the G23 so I am going to go to the nearest place to me that sells both and hold each one in my hand before I make the decision. From the prices I have seen theres about a $200 difference. Question: Is an H&K as relable as a Glock?

Honda606: of course I plan on fighting any further gun control laws. Unfortuntly (at least as far as gun control goes) I live in california, and there is overwelming and growing support for radical gun control laws, ESPECIALLY within my age group. What made me finally decide that I need to buy a gun NOW was sitting in a class at my college, we were discussing gun control. Out of a class of 30+ people I was 1 of 4 other people that owned guns and 1 of about 7 or 8 people that oppose further gun control laws. This may not be representative of the california population as a whole, but its probably getting close. As "Generation Y" gets older and more politically involved, they are going to bring about a ban on handguns. I know thats a bad attitude to have, but I am a realist.

I have a H&K USP .45, and while I think it's built like a tank, it feels a bit clunky compared to my Wilson Combat CQB. If you think the next handgun you buy might be your last, pony up the extra $500-$800 and get a semi-custom gun, you won't regret it.

Wilson make a a great compact carry weapon in either the CQB line, or the KZ line starting around a grand. Also, good call in only carrying a self defense piece in a caliber that starts with .4x

Cheers -
