Well, all of these replies!!! Answer back!! IMHO just give her chocolates... and do some of what gotrice said. I am pretty sure she is going to go out with her friends on her birthday (could be wrong). Sooo.... best of luck whatever decision you are gong to do for her.

i think chocolates are a lil on the lame side... specially when its gonna be presented in front of everyone at a party... and probably thrown in the back trunk of a car before hitting the club... perhaps cover her drinks for the night? and make sure she gets home safe? jus make it a fun night... sometimes the little things you do that dont cost a dime are what mean the most... show you care..

I meant his friends not her friends. If he's already got the gift, then a second oppinon wouldn't hurt to ask from a girls pov;on the other hand, asking for advice here isn't really "spontaneous" either right? But you do have a point though

Well she loved the chocolate, I think I am gonna get her a day spa treatment as a surprise if things progress between us and it will be totally random for no reason. I also coverd her drinks, for the night. She may or may not be interested I can't tell and I hate not knowing. Well I will keep yall informed lol.
