the plain stainless daytona is retailing for more in the US because all the dealers are ramping the price up, if u can find one.
in se asia and oz (if u can find them) they sell for retail which is a lot less then a two tone/ mixed metal daytona.
but that 's if u can find one.
i've been looking for a few years now with no luck, only gold/stainless.

Stormbringer....

Oops...I missed the part that said you were looking for a skeleton watch. TAG doesn't make one...there are some very expensive Omega skeletons available. Baume & Mercier has a couple of single skeleton watches. Check out their site. I have a Capeland Automatic (not a skeleton, but I wish it were. I love visible automatic movements!!). It's not pictured on the site. It is stainless with a silver dial. It looks very classic...almost vintage...but somehow manages to be very modern at the same time. 2 !

i like the bvlgari chronograph in aluminum/black (rubber?) ... al pacino wears it in "heat" ... you can see it, when he kills the big one of the bankrobbers with a headshot (while he treatens the child).

nice watch

SB,

check out the ashford.com outlet store, there are some decent watches on sale (to my untrained eye at least). also today and tomorrow you can take another 20% off the sale price. I don't know what normal prices are so please no flaming (but let us know if the deal ain't all that).

Omega watch, list 2500, sale price 1500, with 20% off = 1200!

Actually, the watch that Pacino wears in the movie "Heat", is the BVLGARI Steel Diagano Sport Chrono w/ black leather strap. Same design, but different materials. Nice watches nonetheless. I have a BVLGARI Aluminum myself, but not the Chrono.

Storm, If I'm not mistaken, "Chaumet" makes an affordable skeleton watch. I'm not too familiar with this brand though, so I wouldn't be able to tell you anything about it's quality. Good luck.

Best resale value... Rolex
Best watch to leave your grandchildren... Rolex
Prestige at half the cost of a Patek... Rolex
Not the best movement in the world... Rolex

For $1500, get yourself into a used Explorer 1. It's sporty yet not so ghetto fabulous...

The best site for all watches if you're in the market... http://www.timezone.com

Just my 2 cents...

Here's what I wear everyday
