Help - $ vs. Health - any help appreciated
IF it makes you feel anybetter, I semi "like" the job, but I hate the career. The guys I work with are awesome and I dont have anyone to report to really(unless I make a big boo-boo). I also barely make $50,000/year as a Regional F/O, thats shit pay living in the Northeast
Work is work, it sucks no matter what job you have. If I had to work M-F I would definitely become an alcoholic, just two days off a week is not enough. Sometimes I get stuck flying with a major douchebag and thats tough because you are forced to work together in a very small space
Cool view though

yea, but what I meant is
Does anyone really "want to go to work", would you rather go to work or do something else, hobby or recreational activity etc.......
You may like your job, but who "wants to go to work"?

I think quite a few (not all) physicians want to go to work. When I go to work I'm in charge of what I do. No one tells me what to do. I use my well honed skills to help people. At times I use my skills to help save someone's life. I love a good case where the outcome is perfect.
I don't know how all the regulations and etc in your industry affect you, but I'm sure there are times when you are airborne there's few other places you'd rather be. When you are responsible for several lives and you take these people to their loved ones safely through dangers that they wouldn't know because you skillfully got them through. That must bring satisfaction.

Count me as another who loves my career. I'm a mechanical engineer. And I'm the type that can't see myself as much other than an engineer / physicist / some type of scientist.
I don't care much for my current job as it's a bit boring, but there are a lot of reasons for it still being the right thing, ie they're paying for my MSME while I work. If the next job is boring too, I'll go back to school for a PhD.
I also had what was to me almost a dream job right out of college, and it went when the economy tanked. But I know I picked the right field and the jobs are out there; the positions just aren't here in Utah right now due to bad local economics (the field is flooded locally due to very recent large scale layoffs at a major firm).
Scot, you ever think about going back to school? This might be a good time if you've kicked that around. And if you make and have less money you pay less alimony, unless it's already settled
