Help - $ vs. Health - any help appreciated

It was a joke. I made the same type of comment in another thread (jokingly) and it rubbed some people the wrong way, so I thought I would give it another shot for shits and giggles.

Troll (Internet)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room or blog, with the primary intent of provoking other users into an emotional response[1] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.[2]

I think quite a few (not all) physicians want to go to work. When I go to work I'm in charge of what I do. No one tells me what to do. I use my well honed skills to help people. At times I use my skills to help save someone's life. I love a good case where the outcome is perfect.
I don't know how all the regulations and etc in your industry affect you, but I'm sure there are times when you are airborne there's few other places you'd rather be. When you are responsible for several lives and you take these people to their loved ones safely through dangers that they wouldn't know because you skillfully got them through. That must bring satisfaction.

Also tired of the Railway Labor Act, which was crafted in like 1932 and prevents Pilots from going on strike.............
UAL Pilots had their PENSIONS COMPLETELY wiped out, while the CEO gave themselves or $150,000,000.00 in bonuses......
But there is nothing like flying above a layer while the sun sets, or rises, or landing an airplane in 1/8 visibility with 100ft ceiling

Oh yeah, the uniform too
JoeyBalls, my dad flew jets in the Marine Corps and then worked for Delta for 20 years only to have management give him the big shaft to his pension by filing for bankruptcy. Delta is on my all-time shitlist now and I don't fly UAL either if I can help it.
I like my job because it pays well and I have a lot of responsibility, but I don't jump out of bed eager to go to work. My brother on the other hand basically loves his job. He flies an F-16 for the Air National Guard. Bastard.

Scot,
I have not followed the whole thread, but here is my worthless two cents.
I have a job that has some decent pay, and gives me lots of time off when things are slow, but I HATE MY LIFE when things are heavy. 80 work weeks are the norm and I have come home from work many times at 7 am only to crash for a couple hours, go back and stay at work all night again the next day.
Its very stressful and I get seriously cranky and get all kinds of side effects. Stress related constriction of my arteries gives me goofy pains in my left arm which you would swear is a heart attack, grinding my teeth at night, sleeplessness, irratability, exhaustion and the desire to rip anyones head off who dare get on my bad side.
But even though that is the case, halving my salary and losing my seniority in a very safe job in this economy would cause me even more stress.
If it were me, I would just suck it up, and trudge on through until the job market is great and then move on.
Don't let the ex grind you down, ignore it, and accept the only thing you can do is laugh off whatever she throws. Find as much time to recreate with friends as you can, and this may sound dumb but don't ever go to bed sour. You would be surprised how much better your mood is if right before you shut out the light you catch some rerun of The Office, Family Guy, or Arrested Development and just forget about the BS for a few minutes and have a couple of laughs.
Good luck
