Help - $ vs. Health - any help appreciated
If it weren't for kids I would think taking a new job that makes you move to another area of the country. It would give you a new (hopefully very enjoyable) job, you would make new friends, have a new environment--it would make it much easier to push the reset button on your life in general since you'd be changing so much of the day-to-day that way.
I wouldn't quit the job until you have something else though. If things don't go well/quickly you'll only have more problems--it's usually only good because it motivates you to look hard for a job. Instead, I would stay put and actively search and interview for new jobs that sound better, and right now I would take a week or two off and just go somewhere relaxing (Hawaii for me, who knows where for you) to give your mind some free time to reevaluate life and get ready to start over. It sounds like you need it.
And honestly, what are your stress-relief hobbies? If, like many of us, cars have been one of your biggest ones through the years, get a used S2000 or miata or whatever fits the budget and use it to have a bit of fun and relax. You have to have some fun now and then or life loses its luster.
It sounds like you've lost some of the things you enjoy most in life. You have to start over, rebuild, and you'll be back on track enjoying life again soon enough.

Much easier to get a new job while you're working that when you're not. I'd stick with what you've got and seriously start looking for something new. Hell, even if you took the same sucky job with a different company you would be working with different people. If you don't like it in 6 months move on to some other company.
Maybe try teaching in a private college until you get fired for banging hot babes for A'ss....
