History buffs: help needed
Does anyone know when was the last time we actually had a President and Vice President from 2 different political parties?
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/5191875/
I read that and thought that was fairly interesting. I remember my HS history class saying something about the loser of the presidential election being the VP, anyone know more details?

Knock yourself out! I'm sure the info is in there somewhere.
Actually, some of it is pretty interesting.

Yeah...judging by the info in there, the original system didn't work with the development of political parties.
It is interesting that Kerry wants a pro-life, VERY pro-military Republican as a running mate. That would make for quite an interesting ticket.
