Tommy, there is little positive that can come from posting this in a public forum.
Nobody here will be able to do anything other than comment from afar and judge
another s2ki.com member based on one side of a very delicate coin.
I would definitely NOT believe anything DT was telling me. They could simply
be lying to you about knowing the details of your damage. Why would they openly
admit to causing it? They won't. They're giving you know who enough trouble
as it is on damage they KNOW they were responsible for.
Here's an example. If I go and get my tires changed and the lugs aren't torqued
to spec and during the ride home, my wheel/tire spins off and damages another
vehicle, common sense is going to send me DIRECTLY to the shop that DIDN'T
complete the work.
It's not the owner's fault your car is damaged, it's DT's fault but I'm sure after all
this situation has been settled between the owner of which we speak and DT,
he would be in a better fiscal situation to help you.
Losing a friend over what essentially, in the end, is going to amount to less than
$750 of work, tells me the friendship was based more on convenience than anything
else. Document the damage, get it fixed (be it YOUR insurance or your own pocket),
and proceed accordingly but the last thing I would demand of a friend right now is
to saddle him with this on top of all the other crap he's putting up with. I would
handle my business and attempt the recoup at a more appropriate time. You
guys have too much history to let this get so out of control. I would appreciate
his .02 though he is under no obligation to do so and perhaps feels this isn't the
appropriate place to discuss it and I would honor that.

Im not gonna go too deep on this one, but I will say this...

all the members posting in this thread that are not from this area and dont know the people involved should strongly watch the words they use(and quit possibly choose to justy shut the up)...I happen to think both the parties involved are good guys, and any slander or ignorant name calling is rediculous.....

Actually I know quite a bit about the law. Have a lot of legal coursework in college and a lot of legal coursework in relation to a lot of Florida statues that pertains to the business I'm in as well as quite a bit of knowledge of the UCC. Your cop and lawyer are both wrong.
i had to re-read the above twice...

ok let me get this straight.

you are NOT a lawyer. but you know more about the law than a LAWYER and a COP?
