Huh? That is a bit oversimplistic don't you think?

Reality is in India you generally get a well educated person for a lot less money. In the states you double that money and you get some high school dropout with an attitude and drinking problem.

However, taking your vote with your wallet bit as bait -- exactly where would one buy a laptop that was built in the U.S. with all U.S. parts?
I'm not sure where your Dell computers come from, but every Dell laptop I've gotten has a huge "COMPUTER MADE IN MALAYSIA" sticker on the box (both three years ago and just last week, twice). They may be plugged together in Texas, but they aren't made there.

And east Indian labour is starting to get expensive. There's so much outsourcing going on that India is starting to demand more money. I do agree they have some incredibly skilled people working there. I've worked with quite a few regional east Indian software/IT shops, and their people were very bright.

What really pisses me off calling India is the one second phone delay. Trying to have a conversation where each person is talking over the other is frustrating as hell.

It's also interesting to note that Dell Canada has just opened up a brand new service call center in Edmonton, Alberta. Their purpose is to take some of the load off the Indian call center. I also just recently found out that any Canadian calls to service placed between 12AM and 8AM eastern time automatically goto their Ontario office. You can imagine that I always call after 10PM MST now.

In Dell's defence, their service alone is worth getting a Dell. They may sometimes be difficult to deal with depending on who you get in touch with, but Dell will kill themselves to make the situation right in the end. I'm shipping back a three year old laptop today on a warranty exchange. I'm typing this message on my brand new D810, loaded to the gills (the laptop, not me , but by the way this day is going, maybe me too soon). All because I had a 1/2" inch line of dead pixels on my old display that Dell couldn't get anymore. Dell has me as customer for life now.

Chris.

I fight back with my dollars. Fuk that company, won't use them for anything. When they decide to put jobs back into our economy instead of sending them overseas, I'll do business with them again. Until then fuk 'em. Vote with your wallet bro.

Awww, whats the matter? truth hurt?

You pay taxes like everyone else. It's part of the deal if you want to live here. Need more money? make more. You are the one who is superior to Americans right? Making more should be no problem then.

You have three options.

1. Move back to where you came from.
2. Pay your taxes and STFU. Stay bitter towards Americans.
3. Get a clue and realize your taxes are what grants you the the freedoms many other countries don't have.

Don't generalize all Americans. Not all of us are fat, lazy and stupid. Generalizing the way you do only makes you look bitter and resentful towards something in your own life or culture. Which is it?

Education? yeah it's messed up here in the U.S. That must be why other countries send their children here for higher education.

And last of all it's "U.S." not US. But who am I to point out your lack of education regarding the use of the period.
Move back to where I came from?

I already did. Left San Diego and came home to Boston.

I wish I paid more taxes. I wish everyone would pay more taxes and help our government out. I make plenty of money. Taxes eat a healthy amount of my gross pay. I still have plenty left at the end of the day. If only all that tax money went to causes that better this country...

Why not generalize Americans? Are you embarassed to be lumped in with countrymates that uphold that lazy image? Saying that you aren't a lazy American isn't going to change anyone's image that people hold for us. If anything it should motivate you to do something help clean up that image if it actually bothers you. Or are you too lazy to do so? Even on a small scale, do you push your coworkers to do more when they can or do you let them slack off? This is a great society we live in, but that doesn't mean there aren't black spots that need to be cleaned up.

Education? Have you even looked at our schooling below the university level? Clearly, our schools pump out some very bright kids. And with those bright kids are some very dull rocks. Some kids don't embrace the educational opportunities they are given, and they probably won't get too far. But kids that do want to learn can only learn so much if they are being taught poorly.

Actually, abbreviating United States with US instead of U.S. is widely accepted in many modern English style conventions. So, I guess my education is just a little less lacking than yours.
