Audacity - free for Macs and Windows, take your mp3s and edit them to 64kbps 30 second ringtones, then Bluetooth them to your phone. Forget paying $4 to the phone company.

I use Audacity also. You can cut a clip out of the song you want and save it as any bitrate you want. I find 32kbps-40kbps decent for ringtones, but I sometimes save them at 64kbps.

Size and quality. The lower the bit rate, the worse the music sounds - rich and clear the bigger your file is, muted and dull the more its compressed. I rip my CDs at 256 VBR ps for listening, and 56-64 kb ps for my ringtones.

I'll go through my ring tone and change from 128 to 64

ill that mean 1/2 the file size
