Default INFO for court case

Alright I got a speeding ticket for 66 in a 45 which I wouldn't really care about except it nulls the deferment of previous speeding ticket and me being a young male...well you can just imagine what the insurance company will do to me(PS I don't have any accidents on my record)

Anyways I need to know the distance a stock 2001 s2k needs (f20motor) to travel in order to reach 60mph (I think the time is 5.5 seconds on a straight away?) or 66mph.

My figuring is that from the turn i was at to the point where the cop could have radared me is not a long enough distance for me to make it to 66mph I mean I drove it and it was .1 mi distance from my start to where he radared me. Also if you could link to manufacturer sites or anything I print and site b/c I am gonna have to present this in front of a judge.

And no I don't know how fast I was goin when he got me but I am starting to get suspicious as this is the second time the cop has cited me for 20 over and first time I wasn't too worried as it didn't go on insurance but now I am thinking this isn't a coincidence.

Links and facts/specs are what I need I can find the time for 0-60 but not the distance.

Assume that it takes 5.5 seconds to reach 60 mph, and that acceleration is constant.

60 mph = 88 ft/sec

88 ft/sec ÷ 5.5 sec = 16 ft/sec². That's your constant acceleration.

d = ½at² = ½(16)(5.5)² = 242 ft. = 0.0458 mi.

So there was more than twice the distance you'd need to hit 60 mph.

If you accelerate at a constant 16 ft/sec² over 0.1 mile (= 528 ft.), you'd be going 88.6 mph.

Sorry.

this is true. there not all as smart as they look.

take it from the man with over 20 tickets since 16 years of age and Havent had one on my Driving Record, and I dont use lawyers (Im current 21 years of age)

but ive done my share of defensive driving, aggressive driving, deferred adjudication, and I did community service once for my first ticket I ever got (in the S2000 lol)

BUT, I would recommend you DO NOT fight it. Unless, your 100% sure you can win, not 95% not 99% but 100% and even if you are truly innocent they can still count you guilty (I know personally), and when you try to fight a ticket in court and lose you pay the full amount of the ticket's fines + more in court fees, normally around 3 to 4 times more then if you just would of plead guilty to begin with (or at least in texas thats how it is). To me its just not worth the risk.

$1XX + defensive driving or etc > $4XX in fines and extra court fees if you lose your case (in which 19/20 times you will)

Id type a book about how the court system just wants your money, and what cheap shots and shit they pull to do it, but Im tired lol.

If you wanted to be smart about it, Id just bite the bullet and plead no contest, and bargain with the prosecutor.

I'm thinking that you should have been worried and slowed down after you got the first ticket.

How much do you pay for your lawyer? I've read $5000 for an almost guaranteed no-points-on-record deal.
