they'll just prescribe u some addictive sleep aid, for temporary use only. If it is truly a chronic problem there are no easy solutions.

agreed. But, a person with a body clock that doesn't match that of the rest of the world does have a problem. If left to my own devices, my body chooses to be awake for 22 hours and sleep for 6. Unfortunately, I have to work standard office hours 1000-1800 (or in the past, standard school hours) and can't let my body go on its natural rotation. That causes my sleep problems, tryign to force my body to do something it doesn't like. I have had this going on for as long as I can remember, back around 4 years old. Whatever drug/herbal remedy you recommend to me, I have tried it. The only thing that puts me to sleep and lets me wake up in 8 hours, like a "normal" person, is my friend mary jane. Now the only thing I lay awake at night thinking about is if I would rather say fvck the world and live on my own natural sleep cycle or get high every night so I can get rest and keep my job. I still have my s2k, so I guess you know what choice I make no matter how troublesome it is

I'd try just staying up longer and longer until your sleep cycle rotates around to a standard position again. Probably take a few nights.

Look, what it's going to take in the end is you teaching yourself what's more important. We teach ourselves all sorts of things in life. Some good some bad. The first thing is to except the circumstances. The next is knowing what's wrong or what's keeping you up. The third and most important is change the habit.

Ok, now that we've established a basis of understanding, the general train of thought is to relax with any worry or thoughts that are bothering you. Do you believe that you have the power to change?? I'll just bet you do. Next identify the things that are bothering you most when you are laying there thinking. No not that your worrying about going to sleep, what's really bothering you. Write it down if you have to and set it next to the bed on a stand or under the pillow. Forget about solving the problem just let it go. You'll wake up tomorrow and time will go on. All the stuff that you forgot to do today will still be there tomorrow I promiss you. Look the thoughts are already there so use them.

Most and I say most of the problems related with problems sleeping have to do simply with to much worry. Look, worry is like trying to solve an algebra problem by chewing bubble gum. Can't be done so why do it! Serves no prudent purpose in life but to hold you back from doing the things that are most important to you. Think about this, when you really want to do something what is the one thing that holds you back from doing it? Easy, fear of the unknown. That's right fear!

What are you fearing about sleeping? Are you afraid that you won't wake up?! HAHAHAHA one of these days you won't! Does it make a difference if you don't? Not a damn bit! Are you afraid that you won't make that deadline or suspense? You won't, if you keep worrying about it!! If I don't sleep will I die or will something happen to me, like will I go crazy? Nope, do you want to? Are you afraid that you won't be able to pay your bills, then you'll get into debt problems and they will reposes your car, your house, you'll be on the street with the bums and drinking sterno. Your mind runs in cycles and linked thoughts, that's how we learn. But sleep works as a cycle. As the sun goes down we get sleepy naturally! So we feel like sleeping. After 6 to 8 hour of rest our body just naturally begins to refresh itself and your energy level and we wake. It's that simple!

If you're used to or have forced yourself to stay up till 3:00am with an active mind then you've caused yourself to get into this rythum. You just need to get out of it. It takes time and you have to be patience with yourself and not giveup! Don't try so hard and make it worse. Just ease into it everynight. No big deal! Railroaders deal with this alot and they too manage.

STOP WORRYING ABOUT EVERY LITTLE THING! It's just a perspective that's all it is. Easy for me to say and do huh! Well so it is for you. RELAX DAMIT! Snorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Cheers

Jeff
