I have Insomnia as well. Everyone is right about Melatonin, the doctor recommended it to me when I went and told him about my sleeping problems. Also, as others have said, no exercise or cafeine for a few hours before you go to bed. I also drink warm milk before I go to sleep, it helps calm your stomach and for some reason warm milk helps you sleep better. If all else fails, as someone said a little weed never hurts my sleep Matter of fact, it's the most instant and succesful remedy for me....but then again it's the remedy for everything in my book, stress, sleep, headache, hangover, boredom

Hope you get some sleep

Bottom line: people who can't sleep either a) have a serious mental problem or b) are not active enough....

how bout gettin your ass up off the computer chair and hitting the gym hard when you wake up in the morning. The more active you are, the more healthy you are, the more sleep you get. I know if I get a complete workout before I go in to the office, I sleep like a damn baby and can't even stay awake past midnight very easily.

in summary: physical exertion is the key to sleep, people who are lazy as hell resort to the sleeping pills etc. etc.

20 valium, 4 nebutol and a bottle of Jack Daniels.

Seriously, I have fought with this for a while and the only thing that worked for me was Vicodin and Vodka (I have severe back pain). My GF brought this stuff home called Xango that is supposed to cure all kinds of crap. Yea right, whatever. Anyway, she tells me to try it since now that the pain is mostly manageable the stress is what is killing me and keeping me up at night. Shockingly enough, when I can't sleep, I take a shot of it and it works. It is all natural and made with berries. It is not cheap, about $29 for a bottle (about the size of a bottle of wine) but there are no harmful ingredients, no alcohol, nothing narcotic in it. It is worth a shot. If it doesn't work I guess you could always try the alcohol and jerking off approach. J/K

you can try taking melatonin and/or valerian.

dont drink caffiene anytime after noon.

exercise but make sure its a few hours before you plan on going to sleep so you are settled down.

make sure you wake up at the same time, even on weekends i make myself wake up at the usual time because if I dont it completely ruins sleep schedule for the week.

There's no way I'll ever believe this unless some scientific study proves it

Forcing yourself into a sleep schedule is really important as many people have said.

Becareful of sleep aids, pills and melatonin. I had a bout of insomnia a while back and relied on melatonin to carry me through it. It is great stuff but it will be very hard to get back on track after you use it.

Get ready for bed earlier. I bet your trying to go to bed late and just draging things out. If you want to sleep at 11:00 lay down at 10:00.

Try not to focus on things you have to do or have done. Find something in bed to help you refocus. Reading a book is a good idea. Reading a book that you arent very interested in can really help as well.

I have some great research articles that will knock you out cold. Not to mention they are not addictive at all!
