We have a Golden and our neighbors also have a Golden and a Lab (they installed the invisible fence when they saw how well ours worked).

My dog goes out now without the collar most of the time. She knows where her boundaries are and respects them. As a matter of fact we have to take her off the property in a car since she will not pass the line even w/o the collar.

We paid less than $300 for our system (I installed it in 1 day) at Drs. Fosters & Smith

This system is adjustable (intensity and distance from line).

Glad I saw this, thanks for the info, I was thinking of getting one for our dog. I see now it wont work, we had to use a bark collar on our Beagle once and she would bark anyway We could hear it going off and I even shocked myself with it to make sure it was working.

She is one tough beagle.

I have one and it works great. You can turn up the juice if the dog seems to get out of the shock wall. Invisible Fence also has a battery backup incase the power goes out.
