I was being sarcastic.

Although thinking it through 4 gigs would require you delete / move around stuff from time to time.
I still move and delete stuff on my 20 gig..

Think about what your getting for $250... a 4gig flash drive! Google search turn up one at $299. But that can't play mp3's, that doesn't have a screen and that isn't as sex.

wow, an over-priced, poorly designed mp3 player that receives a knee-jerk response. What a surprise it comes from Apple?

For the money, there are a number of players that are better, the Creative Zen Micro is one that comes to mind. A Rio Carbon is another. But then again, those weren't designed by monkeys who have never used an MP3 player:/

Jeez, did an iPod kill your mom or something? Its a great design, and its not over priced if you look at the market.

so can I play my mp3's that i've downloaded from "other resources" in the Nano?
Mp3 is a universal format, any mp3 player can play any mp3. The song files you buy all have file protection (Apple's is AAC, Microsoft's is WMA), meaning the only way to copy them is to burn them onto a CD, and then rip them back onto your HDD as a normal mp3's. Fwiw, AAC is an open format, WMA is proprietary.

iPods play any mp3, mp4, WAV, AIFF, normal AAC, or Apple protected AAC. You can't play a normal WMA file on an iPod, but if you drag a WMA into iTunes, it will convert it to mp3, AAC, or whatever format you want.

I ordered a black one off the Apple site on Friday night - I hope it shows up this week!

I also ordered a pair of Shure e4 black headphones for it.

I should be getting mine today.. W00T!.

The zen micro is horrible. I hate the little scroll bar... I think the circle scroll is a lot better on the ipod series because you can choose any track that you want without letting your hand up from the ipod.

Rio Carbon.. there's a reason why rio is bankrupt.

ipod shuffle however... = useless... unless you're blind and don't need a screen anyway.

I got mine today. Damn small, did some spec up and its 5 DVDs thick. Lenght of a business card but not as wide. You can see whats on the display without having to squint.
Sound quality is great but I need better headphones, the Apple earbuds are crap. Thinking Etymotic or Shure but not sure (no pun) about which to get.

The hard part is finding music that I really want. I guess I have to get used to the fact that I can now listen to almost anything and just fill the sucker up.

UseNet is great. I used it for some music but mostly movies, now I have a hard time choosing what I want.

4 Foo Fighters Albums, 4 DMB, The Streets, The Mitchell Brothers, Coldplay, Nirvana, Kanye West, Johnny Cash (5 albums) and some more that I forget.

Only 6 of those were mine yesterday (who am I kidding only 6 of those were mine 2 hours ago). And they were the 5 Johnny Cash albums plus one other.

Pics for the less than lucky.
