OS X is amazing. I don't even have OS 9 installed anymore. I don't run anything in classic mode. It really pays, by the way, to buy a book like the "Missing Manual" for OS X, esp. if you're not already familiar with Unix. After a few months of using OS X (and almost twenty years of using Macs!), I'm spending about as much time in the Terminal on the command line as I am in the graphical parts of the OS.

For the record, I have a dual 800 g4, and OS X is lightening quick. When 10.2 comes out this fall, the OS will be superfast.

I didn't know OS X was so closely related to UNIX. Sounds like an OS worth checking out.
