The first decision point occurs tonight.
I have to call girl B to set up the details for Friday night.
Right now, I'm sort of leaning towards the thinking that: A bird in Hand is better than 2 in a bush. But I keep coming back to the fact that girl B is a hot red head, and you just don't get too many of those.
So no decision has been made yet.
Guys, here is the confusing part. To a girl, every single girl I've told about the situation I'm in advocates the lie. Don't belive me? Try it yourselves. ( BTW Sondra's advice does not count, I have reason to belive her advice may amount to some kind of long distance CB <- Inside joke, if you don't get it don't ask)
Updates will follow, but there will be no speech at the Fall Colors dinner.

In my opinion, I wouldn't lie. . . But, would also try to avoid rescheduling again. . . I would try to arrange an afternoon date with Girl B and set up evening plans with Girl A (or vice versus). . . If you do an afternoon with the B-day Girl (A) then you can follow-up with a Sunday thing as well. . . Conversely, you could do an afternoon with Girl B, which can be a fun/less formal blind date. . .
Either way, good luck. But definitely avoid direct lies unless absolutely necessary. . .

Tom, Tom, Tom... a CB? ME? Never!
For what it's worth, I've had to employ my own method before ("I've got other plans, but another time?") and have even used it when I wanted an "out" without hurting someone's feelings. If someone you just met, in a romantic situation, was so forward as to ask what it is you are doing or to tag along, that screams "control freak" and later down the road, you'll be glad you knew that!
