Don't lie, just tell A that you've got plans already. You can't drop a hot redhead and live with yourself, so that option is out (I've got the same affliction), and lying is a big 'no-no'. Added bonus - Girl A may asume that you're going on a 'date', and will see you as more attractive because someone else wants you. She will likely 'try harder' to keep your attention from that point. Girls aren't as attracted to guys that are highly available - it just doesn't look good.
