Thanks DoGMan...I appreciate you taking the time to point that out.

I guess I'll join dbw in not needing a reason to dislike this guy... He still annoys me and I think his movies suck...!

Is there a way you Canadians could make him stay in Canada? Or do you guys not want him either?!

How the hell do the taxes work for you dual citizens? As far as I'm concerned - on paper, sure you can be a citizen of as many countries as you so choose. But, who gets your taxes? That's your real citizenship country.

The truth is that if you have enough money to make you worth something then you are in. I think the going rate is $250,000. With a quarter mil of spare cash you can be a citizen pretty much anywhere as long as you don't have a criminal record or other unsavory note on your file.

Cash is king as they say.

I don't like the guy either.I remember a couple of years ago, whilst making some film or other, he developed an intense dislike for one of the manual workers on the set and rode the guy and ridiculed him mercilessly to the point where the guy slugged him and broke his jaw! I think the only thing that saved the poor guy from getting sued was it would have been bad for Carrey's image!!

chthree's right, you pay taxes where you reside. If you have a house back in the home country...then expect them to come looking to you for a portion as well.

One of the reasons I haven't moved to the US is I like my house, and I really don't want to give it up. I couldn't get anything in California like it for under a couple million bucks (Carmel / Monterey) so I figure I'll be here a while longer. I'll likely be transfered to the US in the next year or so, at that time I'll have to sell or figure out a way to have someone I trust (parent) handle the house if i pay for it in they're name or something along those lines.

Almost looking forward to somethings, 32% tax would be a wonderful thing, and driving my car year round is another.

Plus living near Carmel is nice too

As for keeping JC..no you can have him really. Its a Canadian millitary secret, we own most of the actors and most movies are made here...so be prepared for our invasion somewhere in the next century. We're still pissed about the Avro Arrow.
