Default Just got a new 3G iphone from a friend...

I just got a new 3G iPhone from a friend, he literally gave it to me.

Previously I had an unlocked 1G iPhone and was paying $20 a month for the MediaMax200 plan (unlimited internet + 200 text messages)

I plugged in the new iPhone and registered it and it's fully functional. Can I assume At&t is going to change my data plan? Can I get away with using the MediaMax200 plan and pay $200? Or am I potentially going to be charged per kilobyte of data usage?

I'm also noticing that i'm not really getting 3G in San Francisco (wtf?). Tried in the Sunset district and SoMa. Don't know if it's due to me not changing to an official iPhone data plan.

You'll have to pay another $10/mth for the 3G service. Data plan (IIRC) is $20/mth

While I hate many of the issues the iphone has. I can't imagine life without it.... I just hope service gets more reliable as time goes on. Its pretty decent thus far though.

you should really consider jailbreaking it. I did, and now I REALLY can't imagine life without it.
